Q. How has been your journey all along in this industry?

When thoughts change, thought processes change which leads to new beginnings. From not wanting to be the center of the eye of people in a fast growing field of architects from the 2000’s, from wanting our building to be sculptures of modern technology, from wanting these sculptures to be for them to stand as a an icon of an idea of their own conception, we decided to take a turn for the clients we build, for them to be designed for the people who live in. For them to pride these dwellings to be the outcome of their hard-earned incomes. We design and build to make the client feel special, taking utmost care in the things that they would least care about too.

The two key drivers behind the establishment of Dwellion has been Entrepreneurship and Control. In the creative field of Architecture ideas, designs are infinite and are laced with the thoughts, training and background of the architect. An architect working for a client has to align their creation in line with the firm’s beliefs and design mantra. Dwellion being my entrepreneurial venture gave me the control to bring life to contemporary designs as a mother to her baby. With the holding company being an execution firm it further gave me control on the value chain.

Q. What are your observations about this profession and your overall experience working across different scale of projects?

If you take the present situation in the market place, the mind of the society has changed immensely, giving way for more and more upcoming architects, as well as making it more and more competitive, for all the options the market is to provide. But with advancing technologies and the thoughts comes its own set of barriers. And what I would say is that, the main barrier is to keep up with the arena of advances coming up in the area, all of them. And there is again the part where more than a percentage of the people are very conservative in terms the thinking and still think that architects are expensive. That is an idea that is being believed to be true and now instilled for decades. People have the ideology that hiring an architect is very expensive, and that the cost of the architect in itself is a price they don’t want to pay for. But what a lot of them don’t realize is that, the architect saves, an architect can give you options within the amount the client is willing and wanting to spend. And do it much more aesthetically pleasing at the same time. That is our job and here I talk for my peers too, we do it perfectly well.

Q. Are you open to experiment with different styles?

We primarily are a design consultancy firm specializing on Residential, commercial level projects, institutional and Industrial projects. We believe that the experience of the design is prime to maintaining a rapport with the client through the entire process of the construction and handover of the project. For us the client is the most important and key for the project. We consider the client at par with us, more like a partner, and for you to profit the client will have to profit too. And we believe a word of mouth still works much better than the various social media platforms and the various technological advances and the client becomes a living proof of the way we work, and take it to varied class of people.

Q. Which was your most challenging and thrilling project? Share with us more details about the same?

 What makes your work unique?

As I have said a lot of times before, the client is the most important person and we aim to please the client by putting together ideas, from the different creative minds, that make up dwellion. A lot of my peer firms have a lot to take care of, take up a lot of projects, but try hard to remain a small but an efficient group of creative people, who can conclusively concentrate on a client, as taking up lesser clients, taking a few clients at a time. We design for the client to have a design that is comfortable right now, stands out and also becomes and sets in place for the future to come. And it lets us make sure to consult with the client with even the smallest detail that they wouldn’t have even cared for. And we make sure you keep it all under the particular time frame, the client wants it to be delivered. As I said, client is the key.

Q. Which was your most challenging and thrilling project! Share with us more details about the same?

The most challenging project that we worked on was a 9 Bedroom Bungalow in a 5000+ sqft. property for a client at Neyveli, where we had a huge backing and support from the clients side to experiment on the concepts for his Bungalow. The outcome was a 9 Bedroom Bungalow, with state of art exteriors and lavish interior designs that we proposed him, with every single room being an unique taste of design, incorporating the likings of the client and styles that we had in mind, designing it accordingly to cater the clients liking, caring for even minute details that add the WOW factor to the view that one looks onto. The designs of this project helped us bag many awards
