Hands Carpets, renowned for their handcrafted luxury carpets and rugs that have gone on to adorn some of the most prestigious palaces, hotels, institutions and residences across the world, has unveiled the L’Ornement Collection of carpets, a collection of hand knotted carpets inspired by the most celebrated French art movement, Rococo.

The Rococo era flourished in France in the early 1700s, which is basically the French interpretation of the Baroque period. Rococo style embodies ostentatious ornamentation, intricated designs, asymmetric patterns and inclination to lighter, pastel or gold-based hues. The L’Ornement Collection has employed luxe materials, giving it a feel of using brocades and jacquards, which were the fabrics of that perious while keeping the carpets very elite and sophisticated. These carpets have interpreted the elaborate inspiration in a more contemporary way. With whimsical deisgn patterns, all the carpets have a certain delicacy and charm about them. Color effects are also very ravishing, running from pale shades of ivory, beige and taupe, to the bold hues of silver and gold.

The following are some highlights of the L’Ornement Collection:

CHARMANTE: The carpet design is displaying a fascination with the Rococo era by focusing on ornamentation, opulence and historical motifs. Elaborated design pattern and antique finish inspired the look of this carpet.

FABULEUX: The design of the carpet is very sophistciated with soft twisting curves and enchanting colors. The carpet shows enamoration with Rococo motifs, which was found in abundance in architecture, fashion, music, paitings and sculptures of that period.

MEILLEUR: Excessive ornamentation and silhouettes of the Rococo buildings is mirrored in the carpet. The design of the carpet has a very theatrical approach, which is inherently very organic but also exaggerated ath the same time.
