Greenlam Industries Ltd. has been enhancing interior and exterior spaces for years. Building on this legacy, Decowood Veneers, premium wood veneer brand from the house of Greenlam Industries, recently held the award ceremony as part of the 5th season of Design Divas—an initiative that recognizes and celebrates the outstanding achievement of women architects and interior designers. The felicitation ceremony was held at Hotel Andaz, Aerocity, New Delhi which graced the presence of approx.100 participants along with esteemed Jury members.
Decowood’s core philosophy revolves around the celebration of wood and the best of talent. The event brought together top-notch industry professionals and showcased their creative talents in crafting interior designs using Decowood Veneers. The event’s centerpiece was a thought-provoking panel discussion titled – ‘Architecture & Women: Exploring the role of women in architectural practices’ featuring renowned panelists Mr. Alan Abraham, Joint Principal Architect at Abraham John Architects, Mr. Martand Khosla, Co-founder of Romi Khosla Design Studios, Ms. Iram Sultan, Founder of Eponymous Design Firm, Ms. Gayathri Shetty, Founder of Gayathri Namith & Associates, and Mr. Saurabh Mittal, MD & CEO of Greenlam Industries Ltd. The panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Shweta Kaw, Principal Architect at Studio Meraki, discussing the profound contributions by women in the field of architecture.
From the list of remarkable entries by architect and interior designers creating a 3D design for interior space using Decowood Veneers, top 100 winners were selected basis their creativity, technical superiority, and innovative use of space with Decowood Veneer. The 100 winners comprised of 20 winners – from each region (North, West, East, South), 10 winners from previous year’s Season 5 Prelude and 10 Wild Card entry of this season. These 100 women architect and interior designers participated in round 2 to create another interior design entry based on new topics provided to them. Out of these top 10 were and further top 3 remarkable architects from the above- Shabana Nufail, Nufailshabana Architects, Kozhikode; Urvi Choksi, DesignCore Studio, Surat; Shabnam Alam, Team Shabnam, Kolkata were awarded for their talent and given prizes with official recognition on the Decowood website solidifying their place in the industry.
