The Design Village, Noida, organized the third felicitation ceremony for its postgraduate and undergraduate batches at Bikaner House Delhi. Founding members of TDV – Prof. Paul Hekkert Head of Industrial Design TU Delft, Prof. Jeroen Van Erp – Founder Fabrique Amsterdam, and advisor Christian Guellerin – Executive Director L’Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique, graced the event as guests of honour.
The felicitation Ceremony also showcased an exhibition from the village coined “Dream doing” which displayed the projects of present and graduating students from the disciplines of Fashion & Textile, C, Product Design, Graphics & Communication, Transportation and Mobility, and Interaction & UX.
The Felicitation began with a congratulatory speech by Ms Mridu Sahai, Co-founder of The Design Village (TDV) where she expressed with pride, “Success is when reality catches our imagination. I am delighted to see you all here. This day belongs to you and I am so glad we are celebrating this momentous event together. The exhibition is a depiction of all the hard work, and perseverance of the students, their teachers, and their mentors has come to fruition. We need future designers who would understand long-term human-centric approaches, who are sensitive and responsible to contribute better lives through design.”
The exhibition displayed the individual design journeys of the students from inspirations, and iterations, to their final designs. These projects are a reflection of the learning manifesto of each student and every project in this exhibition reflects the social responsibility of these young designers to solve existing problems of today and propose new ways for the future.
Dignitaries from TDV, Founders Mr. Sourabh Gupta, Mr. Rishi Aggarwal, and Mr Navneet Garg, and Co-founder Ms. Mridu Sahai were also present at the event to encourage the students for their achievements and onward design journey.
The ceremony ended on a note of vigor and positivity as the graduating batches had the chance to intermingle with one another, with the existing students and the Facilitators, and relive the memories they made as students of TDV.
