Czech designer and producer Sans Souci, renowned for creating tailor-made decorative lighting fixtures, glass objects and architecture features for projects around the world, has launched a novel chandelier titled Pollux.
Pollux, the brightest star in the gemini constellation. Born in the corresponding zodiac sign, designer Jiri Krisica found inspiration in this anchor point of stargazing. He wanted to capture its grandeur. Like a true gemini, pollux fuses cutting-edge technology with a traditional, holistic approach to glassmaking. Innovative gold or silver nano-coating puts Pollux into the modern era, while the crystal luminaire is handblown with old savoir-faire techniques, representing the best of both worlds.
Furthermore, this stunning lighting fixture comes in 6 different configurations and 3 colour variations—aurum with cobalt center, rose with sandblasted center and argent with cognac center. This distinctive lighting is awe-inspiring and exudes a strong personality.
“What fascinates me about working with glass is the share of manual work, which is still significant. It requires fine craftsmanship and precision of a master glass-maker. In the era of machines and robotics, these skills are becoming increasingly rare. My roots go back to North Bohemia, where the craft of glass-making is passed from generation to generation. I also follow in the steps of my family tradition of cutters, engravers, and miniature makers. I pay great interest to details around me since they can provide endless inspiration for creating glowing objects of art,” states designer Jiri Krisica.
Sans Souci draws on the experiences of past generations of glass-makers, with the quality of work defined by the purely Czech origin of their products. The brand masters in creating original architectural features, such as railings, stairways, tables, skylights, columns, and others.
