With a focus on user-centric design and a unique ‘systems’ concept, ALCOI has revolutionised the fenestration industry.
These systems are conceptualised and based on an approach deeply rooted in science and craftsmanship. We aim to amplify the architectural finesse imagined by designers for their residential and commercial projects through the same.
The project uses ALCOI’s AluLITE and SkyLINE ranges by ALCOI, fenestration systems that are primarily crafted for premium residential spaces.
Choosing the right glazing for the projects can be rather daunting as there are various materials, styles, features and physical properties to choose from.
Hence, understanding the various kinds of glass types available in the market is quite important.
Here are 3 types of glass you should know about:
Insulated Glass
This glass combines two or more glass panes spaced apart and sealed with a sealant to appear as a single unit.
Laminated glass
This glass is created by sandwiching a durable plastic interlayer (usually polyvinyl butyral or PVB) between two panes of strengthened glass.
Tempered glass
Also referred to as “toughened” glass, tempered glass is thermally and chemically treated to increase its strength.
A significant portion of the building envelope consists of fenestration systems. They play the role of security guards for a building in terms of regulating the passage of air, light, dust and other exterior elements into the structure.
