Luxury tableware brand Kaunteya launches its signature Pichwai series premium hand painted cushion range along with serveware and crockery. With their exquisite beauty and opulence, the collection elevates every living to a special event.
Kaunteya collections are a grand, and nuanced celebration of Indian heritage, culture and mythology. The Pichwai collection pays homage to the age-old art tradition Pichwai, and the eternal devotion to Lord Krishna, ‘Eternal Krishna Bhakti’ depicted through it.
“One has to even hold their breath to do this fine brush work. Months and sometimes even a year is needed to complete a traditional painting of Pichwai. And eternal Krishna bhakti is at the heart of this artform,” says Sonal Jetha, Founder and Designer, Kaunteya.
Pichwai painting is normally done on cloth using special elements like trees, birds, lotuses and cows, which narrate the tale of lord Krishna and used as backdrop while worshiping Srinathji, his incarnation.
Just like the Pichwai tableware series, the cushions take the contemporary route to evoke the intricacies of the art tradition. The designer distills the essence of the artform to create minimal motifs that exalt the luxury collection, adding a regal finish.
