Creating luxurious and grand projects that give me the freedom to explore different styles of design are the most exciting believes Dipttii Khanna from Dipttii Khanna Designs – Interior Design Studio
How do you describe your journey in this male-dominated industry?
I don’t think I’d describe the industry as being male dominated, or for that matter female dominated. I’d say my journey in defining my career in interior design was built on 3 strong pillars of creativity, consistency and confidence. I’ve always believed in having a strong foundation and a firm grip on my craft – which has distinguished Diptii Khanna Designs from the rest.
Which has been your first project? Where? What was it? How has been your experience?
There’s truly something special about any first project. It’s about taking that plunge into doing what you love, especially when someone else is also on board with your vision. My first project was commissioned to me by a close friend of mine. The project was a bathroom renovation that combined two separate bathrooms into one and equipping it with a walk-in wardrobe. Even though it was a small project, it humbles me to see where I began and seeing where I am today only motivates me to push myself further.
What type of projects captures your interest or rather interested to do?
I’d say creating luxurious and grand projects that give me the freedom to explore different styles of design are the most exciting. I find myself constantly pushing the boundary of possibility, whether it be a highly detailed living room, a marvellous chandelier or the largest mirror ever fitted to a residential project – there is no stone I leave unturned when I take on a project.
Your most challenging projects; where and why? Tell us more about the same?
A project that I found challenging and exponentially exciting was a 3D printer experience centre. This brief was interesting, wherein we had to showcase and highlight as many 3D printed products intertwined into the design of the space. Our concept did exactly that. We fitted and furnished the spaced with as many 3D printed products as possible, so every customer that walked in there truly experienced the space.
Tell us about your upcoming projects; where and what type; schedule of completions?
Currently we have about 15 high end residential projects ongoing across Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. These projects will be completed by mid-2022 to 2023.
