“In an era where flooring is no longer an afterthought but a defining design element, Floor-Tex stands at the forefront of innovation. From advanced material engineering to trend-driven collections, the brand is reshaping how architects and designers experience performance, aesthetics, and long-term value in modern interiors.”
- Your brand offers an expansive product range—from 6 mm water-resistant flooring to luxury 15 mm engineered flooring. What drives the development of such varied thicknesses and formats, and how do you decide what the next “hero” product should be?
The variance in thicknesses and formats is driven by a strategy focused on segmenting the market by performance, application, and project budget. This goes to the heart of modern flooring product development process. Our 6mm water resistant wooden flooring is an innovative product which is highly durable and suitable for moisture-prone areas, while our 15mm Hybrid Engineered Wooden Flooring product is a maintenance free engineered flooring product having birch and pine wood species along with bottom plywood base.
The next hero product is driven purely by design demands from architects and interior designers, our process for identifying and launching the next “hero” product is a disciplined, multi-stage approach rooted in market intelligence and professional feedback. A “hero” product is one that doesn’t just sell well, but fundamentally solves a new or persistent problem in the Indian construction and renovation space.
2. How are global design and durability standards influencing the Indian flooring market, and how is FLOOR-TEX ensuring its offerings stay ahead of the curve?
The influence of global standards is not just about quality anymore; it’s about holistic performance in a challenging environment. We at FLOOR-TEX, spend a lot of time in the R&D of every product & décor that we source and our manufacturers have a very rigid R&D setup. The flooring industry is optimistic with the growing trend for wooden floors & carpet tiles and increase in customer awareness for luxury products. We are positive, looking ahead at the increasing demand for premium products and we aim to focus primarily on unique products. Our team is working on some very new & exciting concepts which will be out soon. Our dedication to these standards is what elevates us from a supplier to a trusted, quality-driven partner in India’s rapidly evolving premium construction space.
3. The way we use space is changing—from open-plan living to hybrid work zones. How is your flooring design adapting to new lifestyle and usage demands in residential and commercial interiors?
The shift towards open, flexible, and multi-functional spaces – both at home and in the workplace has made flooring a far more strategic design tool than ever before.
We are adapting by leveraging flooring’s ability to define zones, manage acoustics, and enhance psychological well-being of everyone. The flooring for residential interiors is used to create clear, yet flowing and functional zones with continuous focus on both the aesthetic appeal as well as the durability of the product. While, for the commercial interiors flooring is essential for wayfinding, acoustic control, and signaling a shift in work mode (e.g., from collaboration to focus). There is a strong trend toward using textures and patterns that mimic nature (biophilic design) to reduce stress and improve well-being. This includes carpet that resemble natural & organic, flowing patterns in earthy and natural color palettes (greens, blues, browns, orange etc).
4. With so many collections (such as “Valmont”, “Vinci”, “Fio” etc.), how do you help architects and interior designers navigate choice fatigue and select the right finish, thickness and installation system for their projects?
By providing a clear framework that connects the project’s functional needs to a small, filtered list of technically suitable products, we transform the overwhelming process of selection into an efficient workflow. We offer advice on different decors & product benefits designed for a wide variety of site requirements, through our technical know-how acumen. Our ‘Valmont’ collection has real wood grain surface texture, while ‘Fio’ & ‘Vinci’ are designer pattern flooring with their innovative design as the key element.
5. Looking ahead, which material innovations or installation technologies in flooring do you believe will define the next wave of interiors—especially in the Indian climate and commercial-residential mix?
We want to be the trend setters when it comes to bringing unique products from across the globe. As we move forward, our vision is to bring innovative and exclusive products for the Indian market. We have recently launched our new pattern wooden flooring collections – Fio, Vinci & Evolution with natural wood grain textures and unique plank sizes. While, in the carpet tiles we have launched new collections – Horizon, Flo & Creo inspired from modern art bringing a vibrant urban vibe for the office spaces. We envision to bring premium quality products, creating our own niche in the wooden flooring & carpet tiles space in the near future
