Q. How has been your journey all along in this industry?
Q. Out of all your projects, please enlighten us with details of your most unique project and what made it stand out?
At Traansformation Design Studio it is more about executing diverse, interesting and challenging projects. We design and execute Residential, Commercial and Office Spaces. All our projects are very close to our hearts as we collaborate with our Clients, vendors and the contractors for the desired outcome.
Out of all the projects, recently completed “The Issrani Residency”, It is our new favourite and what makes it distinctly different is distant designing i.e. understanding all the client requirements from India while our client was living in abroad. Our NRI Client Mr Issrani entrusted the job of designing his 900 sq.ft. apartment with his total trust on us.We have had always loved adventurous and challenging tasks.Having said that, one of the few challenges were to be available to each other on different time zones, to explain the drawings, designs and details were the other ones. Many a times, there is a mismatch between the space and the client expectations are.To make one aware as to what exactly will fit in perfectly and of what size, shape and colour is another task, which we pulled off really well with the support of our client. We are thankful to our client for sharing the same level of passion, positivity and patience which brought out the best in us.The project which would have otherwise been completed in a span of 5 months got extended due to lockdown but patience paid off and we together have been able to transform the space into a luxury haven, what exactly our client visioned of.What makes the designing of this residence even more interesting is luxury with function. The wish was to create a modern sophisticated home for parents which would be the second home in India for our client.
Q. What are the new signature styles or trends that you have been noticing in the field of designing today? Is there anything exciting that you haven't done yet and planning to incorporate the same in your future projects?
In the world of design, local will be the new focal. Our design community will become more sensitive and empathetic towards the use of local materials and labour. Make in India will be religiously followed. All the companies will divert their focus on researching and producing the materials which are anti-bacterial. Disinfection tunnels will be a necessity in almost all the entrances. Sensor driven gadgets, pedal operated devices, voice activation machines would minimize touch and mitigate risk. Creating Safe and healthy space will be a priority, be it residences, commercial complexes, malls, offices or restaurants. Every Terrace would probably be converted into open green space.
We aspire to explore the term vernacular in interiors.Vernacular architecture is very well known but we wish to work on projects that would contain using of the natural materials like bamboo,sun-dried bricks, timber, etc. as vernacular materials have been identified as important for green buildings
Q. Are there any designs you look up to? If yes, what do you admire the most about it?
Infact, there are many Designers and designs we look upto as each creation has its own beauty and uniqueness. One among many of the designs, what completely leaves us spellbound is the architecture by Ar.Zaha Hadid fondly known as the Queen of the Curve.
Vernacular architecture is architecture characterized by the use of local materials and knowledge. Ar. Himanshu Patel is the connoisseur in this field. We admire his detailing in making the exposed twisted brick column. What attracts us towards vernacular is the simplicity in lifestyle and the long lasting impact it has on the society at large.
Q. What message would you like to give to your audience, in terms of planning, inspiration and your overall execution strategy?
Design is all about providing solutions. With improved technological knowledge and sensitivity towards the mankind and environment,we all should work towards planning a better future for the generations to come.Inspiration is a part of everyday learning,Keep the interest in you alive, feed it by watching related videos, study the life of the people or work which motivates you. There is no such thing as competition,All we have to compete with is Self.Be the best version of You in whatever you do.Work will automatically turnout to be the Best.
And finally The Three P’s-Be Positive, Be Passionate and Keep Patience are the three mantras that will help us all keep our sanity and move ahead together.
